When ‘Simple’ Isn’t Simple

We’ve all been there. There’s a job to be done that, at least on the surface, looks like a pretty easy chore. We budget our time and resources accordingly, only to realize that the task was really much more difficult than anticipated.

Hampton and Jean Childs recently discovered that, when it comes to real estate transactions, things are rarely as simple as they seem. They were looking to sell their townhome to their son, Justin at a very low price. The seemingly simple sale, however, became much more complicated as it progressed.

The Childs are the owners of County Transmissions in Vienna and had developed a relationship with Craig when he was the pastor of Vienna Assembly of God. Now in his role as Realtor they worked together to navigate the complications of the sale of their home. Craig also helped answer the many questions and navigate the issues their son, Justin was facing as he secured a mortgage and went through the process of buying a home.

The Childs asked Craig to treat this as a traditional home sale to give their son the experience of what buying a home is like. Justin is now a proud owner of a townhome, and has become an experienced homebuyer.
